Do new copies of Queen CDs come packed in Crack or something?

April 72010

I am just really astounded…not in a bad way, just in general, at the devotion of Modern day Queen fans, particularly those under 20. I mean.. Coke used to use real cocaine to help insure return business……

About the only other band I see this kind or, for lack of better term RABID devotion to has been Nirvana, though that seems to have died down some.

I mean, I’m a HUGE fan of Iron Maiden… but you know..I realize that there are other bands, other musicians out there……

So can any of you Queenie’s help me out on this? 20 plus Queen questions a day, answering virtually every question with something Queen related…

I gotta admit it kinda boggles my mind. What is there about Queen TODAY, that my generation apparently missed? Or is it more a sign of this Generation, and the way they think then about a particular band.. like Generational OCD?

Anyhow… as proof I am not hating.. lets have some Queen Qs…..

MQ- Fave Queen album?
( Innuendo )
MQ2- Fave Queen track?
( Who Wants to Live Forever? )
MQ3- How long you been listening to Queen?
( about 23 years )

and the Bonus Q……
Who is your SECOND favorite band….. and do you obsess this hard about them too?
*also… don’t take this as me calling you out.. too many of ya’ll are great contacts…. I’m just super curious… and in my Aspie way..gotta have answers. =/
*metallica is hardly sacred for me… wher ethey deserve it..I am the first to rip em…. and I would be the first to say when they wrote some crap songs…. ( Reload, anyone? )

LULZ! Uhh I don’t think so :P

Well this is how it is with me….I love (and I mean LOVE) loads of bands however I’ve never found a band with songs that make me feel as happy as Queen. Seriously even if I’m pretty down, I can just put on something like Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Tear It Up, Play The Game, Killer Queen, etc. and I feel so happy again, they just take away my worries. :)

I think Queen had something magical that can’t be found in a lot of bands…the members together created something so special that resulted in the majority of Queen songs being classics and remembered by a HUGE amount of people. Also they have always had a song which I can relate to and which can cheer me up no matter what mood I’m in and how I’m feeling.

Queen also attract a large audience who have very diverse tastes. Those who like anything ranging from country to metal (I mean, I LOVE metal too) to pop to folk, can and do also love Queen. I just think they appeal to so so sooo many people. I have to shut up now ’cause this is turning into an essay so now for the MQ’s :P

MA: Reeeaally can’t choose. I feel unfair saying one ’cause they all have such amazing songs and it makes me like "Damn! I forgot such and such song on other albums!!"
MA2: In The Lap Of The Gods, closely followed by Bohemian Rhapsody.
MA3: Since I was 7 or 8-ish. I’m 18 now :)

BA: Guns n’ Roses. Yeah, I love them WAY loads too :D

Innuendo – Queen

April 72010

“Innuendo” is a song by English rock band Queen. It is the opening track on the album of the same name. Though credited to the whole band, the song was mainly written by Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor. At six and a half minutes, it is one of Queen’s longer songs. The song went to #1 in the UK. Also featured is a flamenco guitar solo performed by Yes guitarist Steve Howe.

The song and parts of “Kashmir” and “Thank You” (another Led Zeppelin song) were performed by Robert Plant with the three surviving members of Queen (May, Taylor and Deacon) at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992 at Wembley Stadium. However, the song was left off the Freddie Mercury Tribute DVD release at Plant’s request, because he could not remember the lyrics and consequently didn’t sing the song correctly.

The 12″ Explosive Version of this song features a noise similar to an atomic bomb after Mercury sings “until the end of time”.

Queen: A Night At The Opera or Innuendo?

April 32010

the show must go on is comparable in my opinion =D

Unfortunately very few peole have listened to queen’s other masterpiece which was Innuendo, so it’s hard to get a reasonable answer other than, duh! A Night At the Opera. On a track by track basis, Innuendo is overwhelmingly the stronger album. However, this is because Queen had 16 years to practice. Now, being a young Queen fan, I am probably one of the few to have listened to Innuendo before ever hearing A night At The Opera. Therefore, I probably have a less biased opinion.

To seperate stellar tracks (songs that made the album) from good tracks (songs that enhanced the album) from fillers (had no impact)….

A Night At The Opera

Stellar: Bohemian Rhapsody, You’re My Best Friend, Death on Two Legs, ‘39, Love Of My Life –> 5

Good: I’m In Love With My Car, Sweet Lady, Seaside Rendezvous –> 3

Filler: Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon, The Prophet’s Song (it’s filler because it’s experimentation, i know some people love this one, and yes it’s amazing on 5.1!!), Good Company, God Save The Queen –> 4

Innuendo

Stellar: Innuendo, I’m Going Slightly Mad, These Are The Days of Our Lives, The Show Must Go On –> 4

Good: Headlong (worst lyrics ever!), I Can’t Live With You, Ride The Wild Wind, All God’s People, Bijou –> 5

Filler: Don’t Try So Hard, Delilah, The Hitman –> 3

So that being analyzed…. There are definitely more stellar tracks on ANATO –> 5 vs. 4. However, Innuendo & The Show Must Go On cannot be ignored as being incredible classics. However these are the only two that can rival tracks such as Bohemian Rhapsody & You’re My Best Friend… and well, the latter 2 are just more concise & approachable.

Of the good albums tracks, Innuendo has more quality to it.

Overall, ANATO was concise, to the point, splendid & basically had 2 of the greatest pop songs of all time. Innuendo was a solid album but would have probably been THAT much better had they dropped Delilah, The Hitman & Don’t Try So Hard and replaced it with Too Much Love Will Kill You, which was an available track at the time. Had that happened, Innuendo would fit as a close 2nd to A Night At The Opera.

Bottom line –> A Night At The Opera

does any of you chums male or female? deserve the title of king or queen of innuendo?

what was the last album Queen did with Freddie mercury…innuendo or made in heaven?

March 302010

Made in Heaven was the last with Freddie Mercury although it was released after he died, it used lyrics that were recorded before his death and they also used newly recorded lyrics with the bands remaining members

Oh and this is the movies section not the music section.

What do you think about Queen’s "Innuendo" album?

March 282010

Don’t you think it’s somehow one of Queen’s Metal albums,
beside "Sheer heart attack" or "Queen II" ??
I mean especially these songs: Innuendo, Headlong, The show must go on or Hitman??
Just wanna know your opinion, thanx!

I loved it. I’m Going Slightly Mad, These Are the Days of Our Lives, and The Show Must Go On are all wonderful songs.

And Stone Cold Crazy was on Sheer Heart Attack, btw.
